Welcome to Hear Comes the Son,
a blog about 12 remarkable and moving albums recorded by true musical pioneers
from the 1960s and 70s. These innovators all recorded under the radar. Many of the records were self-financed, privately pressed and virtually never reviewed at the time. Whilst some have become collectable and are
highly regarded, others still sit in the bargain crate of second-hand record
stores, waiting to be rediscovered.
All the artists were influenced by their Christian faith. Their work illustrates fresh, seldom heard, perspectives on the monumental cultural shifts of the period with much, perhaps less expected, cross-pollination with
both the mainstream and counter cultures. The records have all become personal favourites.
